I’m close to giving up on Yamapi.

Sigh.

I’ve had a long road with Yamapi. He’s one of the primary founders of my jpop roots and it’s a sad thing that I’m becoming less and less fond of him. I guess you could say it really began spiraling out of control when he left NEWS, which I totally saw coming. Every single he’s released after that I’ve tried to listen to and like but…that’s unfortunately not the case.

And his recent album ERO followed suit. Maybe it’s the change of genres, I’m not really too sure. Regardless, I think I’m ready to close this chapter.

Okay Yamapi.

I’m really starting to have a like-dislike relationship with Yamapi. For some reason right after he left NEWS, there are times I’m on board with what he’s doing and then there are times when I’m like what are you doing. I’m getting mixed feelings about this.

The song is much better than Ai, Texas. I like it, don’t love it enough for it to make it on my iPod though. He sounds average here, nothing too impressive. I’ve seen too many flashy kpop videos so this video looks a bit blah to me. I don’t know if I’ll be sticking around for the full version.

I miss hearing Tegoshi’s voice. And NEWS in general.

After NEWS was on hiatus for about a thousand years before Ryo and Yamapi announced their departure from the group, which many people saw coming, I was excited. Not because I wanted Ryo and Yamapi to leave, well partly, but because it’d give the rest of the group a chance to shine. That might make me sound like a terrible fan but my bias in NEWS has always been Tegoshi~

Don’t get me wrong, I was a fan of NEWS as 6. But you could always see the disconnection there just like you could see it in KAT-TUN before Jin left. I compare to two quite often because the cases are similar. I don’t have any resentment against the two, although it seems that I’m a bit critical on Yamapi.

Before I start ranting about Tegoshi’s voice,  I’ll move onto the point of this post. Finally they are making a comeback with the four remaining members, and I’m feeling Déjà vu. It’s reminding me of KAT-TUN after Jin left but I’ve kind of neglected KAT-TUN since then. And because of kpop but that’s a different story.

Chankapana will be released on July 18th, and I think I may go broke. They are releasing a few versions of the single, which are companies ways of making money off fans, and I can’t decide which version I’m going for. I have time to decide though.

Ah I miss the sound of jpop. At this rate, I’m looking at getting Tegoshi’s version.

-Jpop Edition- Comments of the Day: 4.15.2013 {Kuroki Meisa announces pregnancy}

As for this segments long waited return, I’ve finally found something worthy of talking about. Recently, Akanishi Jin and Kuroki Meisa announced their marriage. This shocked many people, including me because it seemed so out of the blue. Many thoughts speculated that perhaps the marriage was a shotgun marriage. Low and behold, a little over two months later after their marriage was announced, Kuroki Meisa confirmed she is in fact 4 months pregnant. Thus that means she was pregnant before the marriage was announced. Personally I’m not sure how great of an outcome can result out of this situation, but like I said early I wish them and their baby a happy and healthy life.

Day 34: 35 Day Kpop/Jpop Song Challenge

Day 34: Favorite Arashi song

Me and Arashi go waaaayyyy back. About four or five years back with KAT-TUN. I’m straying away from them just because they keeep producing the same sounding songs to me and oh my gosh they were like almost always singing together without solo parts but anyway that’s a different story. But at my peak of liking Arashi this was my song. Well mostly because I loved Hana Yori Dango.

So Akanishi will be a husband and possibly a father?

Honestly it amazes me how much can go on when I stop paying attention. I just review Sun Burns Down a while ago and I left Akanishi alone because I wasn’t expecting anything. And then I hear he will be married. Or actually, he is already married.

I don’t know who Kuroki Meisa is and I’m pretty sure I haven’t heard of her till now. Apparently she’s some singer/actress something like that. She is now Mrs. Jin.

This doesn’t actually shock me though. Neither does the possible pregnancy rumor going around. The marriage isn’t a rumor, it was registered on the second of February.  I mean Akanishi is approaching 30 in a couple of years, I imagined him to get married soon. It’s really by random though. That’s why this whole “shotgun marriage” sounds very likely to me.

But who knows, they could really be in love and did a heck of a good job hiding it till now.

Whaat?? NEWS only has 4 members now?

I can’t believe it.

Well actually I can but I just didn’t think it would happen. I always knew Yamapi wanted to pursue his solo career so it’s only fair that he put his priority on that and Ryo, I didn’t think it was possible to continue being in two groups. But they still seemed somewhat interested in the group. I mean NEWS has been stagnant for a while, about a year or so but still…it’s so sudden. NEWS definitely won’t be the same anymore. But at least now, the other for members (Shige, Masuda, Tegoshi, and Koyama) can shine. I’m glad they aren’t disbanding completely though.
