This Week in Kpop: 10.22-10.26

Another wonderful week has passed. I plan on posting quite frequently this weekend, I have quite  a bit to say.

  • MYNAME releases What’s Up:  Longest video ever. I thought it would never end. The thing about this video was that it was very….boring. I don’t really care for the song either. It just blends in with every other song I’ve heard in the past few months.
  • BTOB releases Lover Boy:  It’s taken me some time to figure out exactly what BTOB’s sound is like and I think with this track I’m getting a better feel of them. I’m sure sometime soon I’m going to develop a soft spot for them. There’s someone’s voice that I just love to hear but I’m not going to know names for at least two more comebacks.
  • B.A.P release Stop It and Stop It min album: I’m a bit disappointed with this mini. Happy Birthday, the ballad on the track, is one of those surface plain ballad tracks. It could have easily been sung by any group. On the other hand, I really like their title track, Stop It. The video is very entertaining to watch, then again when is one of their videos not entertaining to watch. I think the song is one of those songs that has to grown on me.
  • HyunA releases Ice CreamI don’t happen to have anything against her. I heard quite the interesting things about her when she released Bubble Pop, which I saw as a cute flirty summery song. Now this song isn’t really my type of song. I’m not judging or anything but it’s not making it on my iPod. This is more for the fanboys.

I’m close to giving up on Yamapi.

Sigh.

I’ve had a long road with Yamapi. He’s one of the primary founders of my jpop roots and it’s a sad thing that I’m becoming less and less fond of him. I guess you could say it really began spiraling out of control when he left NEWS, which I totally saw coming. Every single he’s released after that I’ve tried to listen to and like but…that’s unfortunately not the case.

And his recent album ERO followed suit. Maybe it’s the change of genres, I’m not really too sure. Regardless, I think I’m ready to close this chapter.
