While I was absent from the kpop world (and this blog)….

I have no idea how I had time to blog last year during the week, but this year I barely make it on the internet unless I need to research something. Anyway enough of my complaining, I hope you all have had a great week. I’m thinking about making a This week in Kpop segment on Fridays if this becomes a constant thing, but I’m not sure yet. You can consider this the first  unofficial entry of it. And these are in no particular order.

1. BTOB releases audio and  video teaser for their comeback

To be honest, I don’t exactly remember BTOB. I’m thinking they’re the group that debuted with Imagine or Insane but I can’t remember. That’s how I know they weren’t that memorable. Wow, their main track I’m assuming, is supposed to be a 180 degree transformation but again, I don’t remember how they used to be. To be honest the audio teaser doesn’t have me excited whatsoever, but I’ll let you guys listen for yourself.

Now watching the video teaser, I remember them now. There was one guy I could always point out, which I guess you could call him my favorite. The video looks like it’ll be quite interesting so I guess I should be looking forward to this comeback.

2. Rookie group 24K releases Hurry Up

24K is made up of 2K and 4K, whom the latter I am familiar with. I remember they came out with a ballad that I wanted to like but it bored me to tears. I guess they were only sub units and 24K is the main group.

I don’t think I should be struggling to be finishing the video. The thing with the video, I could care less about the song, is that I feel that I’ve seen it all before. This is a no in my book.

3.  B.A.P releases I Remember with Daehyun and Crash

Let me just say I love B.A.P. They are seriously my favorite rookie group this year. Let me also say I am also glad that I have yet to order No Mercy because I have to get the repackaged album. Crash is great because it shows another side of B.A.P, I swear I’ve seen many sides of them through several songs. It’s a more light upbeat track, which I like. The video shows them acting cute so that’s a plus ^.^

I already love I Remember so adding Daehyun’s perfect voice just makes me love the song even more. Like seriously, why is his voice so amazing?

4. U-KISS releases Cinderella

I don’t know what it is but it seems like every track U-KISS releases since Neverland, I haven’t been fond of. This is no exception.

5. Seo In Guk and Eunji’s deut, All For You

The last duet Eunji did I couldn’t stand, although I like her voice. Her voice can easily overshadow someone else’s voice. I really think it depends on who she sings with whether to duet works or not.

In this case, I think her voice fits with the other. However, I am not a fan of this song.

6. Boyfriend releases Be My Shine

Not too bad actually, very reminiscent of JE groups.

7. FTISLAND releases teaser to I Wish

I was hoping for a song like  Severely  but I’m loving the vibes I’m getting from the teaser.

I don’t understand some of the fans in this Nichkhun incident.

By now if you stay up to date in the kpop world, you may be aware of what I’m talking about. If not, there are articles here, here, here, here, oh and here. I won’t bother reiterating what is already written in those articles. As soon as I saw the headlines I knew this was going to blow up. I waited a bit to make this post because I needed some more facts to come out before I jumped to conclusions.

Some people do realize that what happened is quite the serious matter and can’t be waved off with a simple sorry or the dreaded oppa didn’t mean it. I can’t tell you how much I hate that phrase. Yes, people do make mistakes, but that doesn’t mean that this should be swept under the rug. I’m not going to say he deserves it because of whatever happened to Block B because in my opinion that’s inaccurate judgement.

It doesn’t matter that he wasn’t necessarily drunk, what matters is he was driving after drinking.

Drinking and driving simply. Or if you prefer, driving under the influence.

It is irresponsible to do so, point blank. He is in fact guilty of that. That being said, whatever punishment the law deems appropriate should be served. It doesn’t matter if his alcohol level wasn’t “that high”, it already happened. He can’t take that night back, all he can do is learn from it, accept the consequences, and move forward.

But that’s not what this post is about. This post is about the useless things fans are saying in defense of him or extremely against him. To a certain extent, it’s alright to defend him though I don’t necessarily agree. Though to think he isn’t at fault…..no no. He bears quit a bit. At the same time, wishing terrible things such as death, creating suicide petitions, or threats are just uncalled for. I decided against showing some comments like I do in my usual posts like this, there’s was just too many.

I miss hearing Tegoshi’s voice. And NEWS in general.

After NEWS was on hiatus for about a thousand years before Ryo and Yamapi announced their departure from the group, which many people saw coming, I was excited. Not because I wanted Ryo and Yamapi to leave, well partly, but because it’d give the rest of the group a chance to shine. That might make me sound like a terrible fan but my bias in NEWS has always been Tegoshi~

Don’t get me wrong, I was a fan of NEWS as 6. But you could always see the disconnection there just like you could see it in KAT-TUN before Jin left. I compare to two quite often because the cases are similar. I don’t have any resentment against the two, although it seems that I’m a bit critical on Yamapi.

Before I start ranting about Tegoshi’s voice,  I’ll move onto the point of this post. Finally they are making a comeback with the four remaining members, and I’m feeling Déjà vu. It’s reminding me of KAT-TUN after Jin left but I’ve kind of neglected KAT-TUN since then. And because of kpop but that’s a different story.

Chankapana will be released on July 18th, and I think I may go broke. They are releasing a few versions of the single, which are companies ways of making money off fans, and I can’t decide which version I’m going for. I have time to decide though.

Ah I miss the sound of jpop. At this rate, I’m looking at getting Tegoshi’s version.

Pledis is following SM quite closely.

Pledis Entertainment has announced that they will be debuting a grand 17-member male idol group by the end of the year!

Tentatively named ‘Seventeen‘, the group is made up of  17 members averaging 17 year old, who have been trained not only for the domestic market, but specifically for the international market as well. Although they’re being touted as the largest K-Pop group to date, A-Peace holds the title with 21 total members

After their debut as a group, the boys will be split into units to promote separately in Korea, China, and Japan with promotional tactics tailored to each country.

Hmmm sound familar? 17 member group….splitting into several groups…..promoting in different countries…interesting. It’s still going to be a pain to learn all the names. I was flipping out at the beginning of the article. I haven’t even learned all the names in Super Junior and they’ve been around for years.

-Jpop Edition- Comments of the Day: 4.15.2013 {Kuroki Meisa announces pregnancy}

As for this segments long waited return, I’ve finally found something worthy of talking about. Recently, Akanishi Jin and Kuroki Meisa announced their marriage. This shocked many people, including me because it seemed so out of the blue. Many thoughts speculated that perhaps the marriage was a shotgun marriage. Low and behold, a little over two months later after their marriage was announced, Kuroki Meisa confirmed she is in fact 4 months pregnant. Thus that means she was pregnant before the marriage was announced. Personally I’m not sure how great of an outcome can result out of this situation, but like I said early I wish them and their baby a happy and healthy life.

Topic of Today: Kuroki Meisa annouces pregnancy

Too much EXO news for me to ignore any longer.

I did say in my last post that I was going to ignore all EXO news so I’d be surprised for their debut but I can’t really ignore it. It’s all over my dashboard so I’m forced to do something about it. Not that I’m complaining…

So it’s official that EXO (I will be referring to EXO K when I say EXO just because this is a kpop blog after all) will be debuting with the song MAMA.

I see SM infamous special effects will be including in the video as well.

The above video is more for those who don’t know all the members of EXO, such as me even though I’ve been through like 23 teasers with them.

This really made me realize either Kai or the guy who sings at :49 is going to be my bias. Also I hadn’t really seen EXO M prior to this video and I must say they are all pretty boys. EXO K and EXO M could have honestly debuted as a 12 member group but we all know how SM is trying to break into the Chinese market deeper so it wouldn’t and is not going to happen.

1:29; probably my favorite song from them. Yes, I picked a favorite song already although the album hasn’t even dropped yet. I’m really hoping it’s on the album otherwise I’ll be quite disappointed. At the very least, Baby Don’t Cry, should be there.

While watching the showcase, I got the feeling I’ve seen this before. Probably because it was like teasers relived. Besides that, I actually have some pretty high expectations of EXO’s debut and I shall be looking forward to them meeting my expectations.
