Checking back in (2/2)

  • B.A.P releases One Shot mini: Another comeback for B.A.P, I can’t say I’m surprised. I would have expected by now that I would be sick and tired of hearing B.A.P, but they actually bring refreshing music to my ears. From first listen, I’m not enjoying One  Shot. Perhaps it’ll take a few listens to grow on me but I enjoyed the rest of the tracks on the album, Daehyun’s voice makes everything amazing (excuse my bias). Even though I wasn’t into the song, I watched the video to see if it would grow on me and to see how handsome everyone looked. I got some reminiscing feelings from previous videos while watching it but it’s messing up my bias list, Zelo is sneaking back on top.
  • SHINee release Dream Girl: Well I won’t say I was looking forward to SHINee’s comeback because to be honest I forgot SHINee was even having a comeback. It’s not that I’m not a fan of SHINee, I’m just not a major fan of them. I’m not even going to talk about the atrocious fashion displayed in the video because it is too disturbing. But I love love love the song and the dancing (as always) is amazing, I loved their use of the microphone stand.

  • Tritop covers On and On: I haven’t heard any of their original songs but I have heard several of their covers and I love them. I am a big fan of harmonization, I appreciate a group who can harmonize well and oh my gosh they are the best I have heard yet.

This is my favorite cover by them in case anyone is wondering.

This Week in Kpop: 09.17 – 09.21

I’ve officially decided to make this segment, I think I’m going to get busier and busier as the weeks go on.

1. 100% releases Bad Guy

After watching their cover of Mirotic, I wasn’t looking forward to them. Even after the teaser, I was still on the fence.  After watching their debut video….I think they are boring.

2. BTOB releases the dance version to WOW

I’m not sure what the dance video did for me, but I’m really feeling the song now.

3. Taemin releases solo for To The Beautiful You

[youtbe=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTXw25bGN5U&feature=player_embedded]

Talk about a pretty tone! I’ve always had a thing for Taemin’s voice (you know once I actually started hearing his voice) though I don’t favor this ballad too much. It’s your typical ballad that pretty much anyone could sing. But my my, the sound of his voice is lovely.

4. U-KISS releases Stop Girl (color & bw) + mini album

Oh.my.gosh. I can’t even with Dongho hair.

No.

Oh.

No.

Why.

Anyway, like every single after Neverland, I just don’t care for the song. I don’t know what it is, it seems like I’m losing my interest in U-KISS. Their title tracks just don’t do it for me.

It’s unfortunate that this is the only track on the album that I like, however it won’t make it on my iPod.

May Challenge: Day 26 & 27 {Collaboration and SHINee}

Day 26 :Favorite Collaboration

It’s always between these two.

Day 27 :Favorite SHINee Song

I honestly think their debut song is the best song ever by them. I prefer the Japanese version just because I can sing along.

My candid thoughts on ‘Sherlock’.

I guess you could say I was really looking forward to SHINee’s comeback. Not as looking forward to it as  a Shawol was though. Personally, I think it was a decent album. I liked it but I didn’t love it. I know, it’s really hard to blow me away with albums. I don’t know how someone could say this is an amazing album, because it really isn’t amazing. It probably sounds amazing to some just because SHINee has been gone for a while.

-

I think Sherlock is a good title track, nice and catch. I even had it on replay for a while.

-

The thing that saves this album are the lovely ballads. I’m such a ballad lover so it was like I was being catered to. The Reason is probably my least favorite of the ballads though, I just don’t feel it as much as I feel Honesty. But I really love Onew’s voice in The Reason but I think Taemin steals the show in Honesty. I have to say, Taemin is starting to really get noticed for his voice. I’m glad since I really have a thing for his voice. Unfortunately, Key my love….I don’t know what to say about his voice. I mean I feel like somehow, some way his voice has deterioted.

-

I’m not sure what I think of Stranger, I’m not too fond of it actually. I didn’t like it on their Japanese album so that’s probably why I don’t like it here. I only got through half the song before moving on. That’s less than I got through with Alarm Clock, which I deem the boring track of the album.  It was almost painful to get through the latter track.

-

My biggest problem with this album is why in the world is Sherlock combined of Clue and Note. I mean I felt like I was wasting my time listening to Note and Clue. I think it was pointless to include them. As my fellow blogger said, lazy effort by SM. Please if you haven’t listened to the album, do not listen to Note or Clue. Just listen to Sherlock. I really can’t fathom why SM did that. Honestly. I don’t think Note or Clue can even stand alone.

Overall the album was average to me, I say give it a listen but don’t expect too many songs to be playing on your iPod.

Of course I’m late, but SHINee is back.

I’m sure you’ve all heard by now, but SHINee finally released their album today. I’m always late on the actual comeback. I’m fast at getting the info but late on the actual songs. I’ll give my comments another day, when it’s sat in my mind for a while.

Anyway here we go!

And the teaser to SHINee’s MV:

I must say, the boys look good.
